Global military spending surges and reaches record high

In a recent report published by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), global military expenditures have surged to a record high, reaching approximately $2.24 trillion in 2022. This marks a notable increase of 3.7% from the previous year, reflecting a growing trend among nations to bolster their defense capabilities amid escalating geopolitical tensions and security challenges across the globe.
